چکیده

The three telescopes identify particle energy and type by various techniques. Energy loss and range, which provide the identification of protons (1 to 300 MeV), alpha particles (4 to 1200 MeV) and electrons (1 to 500 MeV), are measured in a stack of silicon solid state detectors and tungsten absorbers in the NE-Range telescope, while the identification of protons (350 to 1000 MeV), alpha particles (1400 to 4000 MeV) an, nuclei through oxygen is provided in the AEerenkov telescope by energy loss measurements in silicon solid state detectors and a velocity measurement in a quartz &erenkov radiator. The Flare telescope employs a double energy loss measurement in silicon detectors for the identification of protons (17 to 100 MeV) and alpha particles (70 to 400 MeV)

Physical Investigation of Space, Dosimetry of Space Ionizing Ray Effect (Van Allen belts, Galactic Cosmic Rays and Solar particles) and Plotting Dose Map for Satellite Circular Missions

One of the main factors for satellite design is simulating of total ionizing dose due to space ionizing rays in devices used in space. By measurement of induced dose based on available data in different altitudes, expenses of designing, satellite weight and amount of needed fuel will be reduced. Optimum design of satellite for protecting satellite against ionizing radiation has considerable eff...

30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE Cosmic-ray helium intensities over the solar cycle from ACE

Observations of cosmic-ray helium energy spectra provide important constraints on cosmic ray origin and propagation. However, helium intensities measured at Earth are affected by solar modulation, especially below several GeV/nucleon. Observations of helium intensities over a solar cycle are important for understanding how solar modulation affects galactic cosmic ray intensities and for separat...

Space Environment and Evaluation of Typical High Altitude Satellite

The space environment consists mainly of high-energy charged particles, such as protons, electrons and heavy ions. They are originating from several sources including galactic cosmic radiation, solar flares and van Allen belts. High energy electromagnetic radiation and neutrons have also been measured on spacecraft. Although shielding can reduce the effect of space radiation it cannot be elimin...

Observations of galactic cosmic rays and the anomalous helium during Ulysses passage from the south to the north solar pole

We compare observations of the modulated intensities and spectra of galactic cosmic ray nuclei and anomalous heliumabove 30MeV/nmeasured by theCOsmic andSolar Particle INvestigations (COSPIN) High Energy Telescope (HET) on Ulysses with similar observations from the IMP-8 earthorbiting satellite between September 1994 and August 1995. During this interval Ulysses made a rapid scan of solar latit...

In-orbit performance of the space telescope NINA and GCR flux measurements

The NINA apparatus, on board the Russian satellite Resurs-01 n.4, has been in polar orbit since 1998 July 10, at an altitude of 840 km. Its main scientific task is to study the galactic, solar and anomalous components of cosmic rays in the energy interval 10–200 MeV n. In this paper we present a description of the instrument and its basic operating modes. Measurements of Galactic Cosmic Ray spe...

A new look at possible connections between solar activity, clouds and climate

[1] We present a re-evaluation of the hypothesis of a coupling between galactic cosmic rays, clouds and climate. We have used two independent estimates of low cloud cover from the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project, covering 16.5 years of data. The cloud cover data are used in conjunction with estimates of galactic cosmic ray flux and measurements of solar irradiance. It is found...
